Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Kurigram’s Chilmari Upazila Awami League (AL) President valiant freedom fighter Shawkat Ali Sarker, Bir Bikram.
In a message of condolence, Quader prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Sarkar died on Monday morning while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. He was 74.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, four daughters, numerous relatives, colleagues and well-wishers to mourn his death.
