Death condoled

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of renowned lyricist and former BCS Information Cadre officer KG Mostafa
In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Dr Hasan, also Awami League Joint General Secretary said in his message, “KG Mostafa will be remembered both as an eminent journalist and a humble civil servant. He will live forever through the songs he wrote which still in vogue.”
Songsmith KG Mostafa died at a city hospital on Sunday night at the age of 85, reports BSS.
Born on 1 July 1937 in Begumganj, Noakhali, Mostafa completed masters in Bangla Language and Literature in 1960 from the University of Dhaka.
He joined the BCS Information Cadre in 1976 as an Assistant Secretary in the Department of Film and Publications and retired in 1996 as a Senior Editor.
Mostafa wrote numerous popular Bengali songs including ‘Aynate Oi Mukh Dekhbe Jokhon’ and ‘Tomare Legeche Eto Je Bhalo’.
