Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Jinananda Mahathero, Principal of Buddhist monastery at Lohagara upazila in Chattogram.
In a condolence message on Thursday, he prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to bereaved family.
He said Jinananda devoted his entire life for the betterment of mankind, establishing communal harmony and peace and he played an important role for increasing quality of education and expanding education too.
Awami League Office Secretary and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua is the nephew of Jinananda.
