Today is the 17th death anniversary of former Joint Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh Qazi Nurul Islam.
He died at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, USA on this day (Bangladesh: 24th March. USA: 23rd March) in 1997.
In his eventful professional career, he held the position of Secretary of Film Censor Board, Managing Director of Film Development Corporation (FDC), Chairman of BMEDC and served the government in the Ministries of Information, Communication, Industries and the Parliament Secretariat as Joint Secretary.
Qurankhwani and Doa-Mahfil have been organized on behalf of the family to mark the significance of the day and to pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
