The 13th death anniversary of former parliament member Mustafizur Rahman will be observed today in a befitting manner. Popularly known as “Dwip Bandhu”, Mustafizur Rahman died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on this day in 2001.
On the occasion, different political and social organizations of Swandwip have drawn up weeklong programmes that include arrangements of Qurankhwani and Milad Mahfil, distribution of foods at orphanages and holding memorial meeting and “mezban”.
The memorial meeting and “mezban” will be held at Swandwip in Chittagong on October 29, where Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain will be present as the chief guest.
