Today is the 5th death anniversary of Hasan Iqbal, a language movement veteran and former Asst. Editor of the Daily Ittefaq. A Doa and Mailad mahfil will be held at Barobagh Jame Mosque at Mirpur-2 in the capital Dhaka after Asr prayer to mark his death anniversary. Relatives, friends & well-wishers have been requested to attend the program and pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
Journalist Hasan Iqbal worked for the Ittefaq for 48 years. On behalf of Tumuddin Majlis, he was the proposer for observance 21 February as Language Day adopted by Sarbodalio Chhatra Oikya Parishad just after Language Movement in 1952.
