The 36th death anniversary of Asaf-Ud-Doula Reza, the former News cum Executive Editor of the Dainik Ittefaq will be observed today (Thursday). He was one of those who set examples of fearless journalism and became ‘National Broadcaster’ of the then Radio Pakistan.
As courageous journalist he never compromised his principle and professional honesty. In the sixties, he risked his life in the movement for democracy and self-determination in the then East Pakistan.
The Bangladesh Television will telecast a programme in his memory in the afternoon, while the Bangladesh Betar will broadcast a special programme on his life and success. His family has arranged a Doa Mahfil at Banasree, Rampura and the Sherpur Press Club in the district of Bogra will hold a discussion today evening, while there will be held a Doa Mahfil at their family graveyard Dhonkunda Manik Manzil Jame Masjid after Asr Prayer.
