The 9th death anniversary of noted writer Monmatha Nath Sarker will be observed today.
Marking the day, a special prayer will be held in the city’s Rayer Bazar residence of Subash Chandra Sarker, brother of the deceased, at 5 pm.
Late Monmatha Nath was the eldest son of Mukundalal Sarker, who was renowned for his great contribution in anti-British movement, and a veteran freedom fighter.
Born in Gopalganj, late Monmatha Nath was the author of a good number of religious books, including Ganesh Charit Sudha and Hori Lilamritto.
