Today is the second death anniversary of Dr. Syed Yousuf Hassan. He actively participated in the language movement of 1952 and went to prison couple of times. He was one of the founding members of the NAP(Muzaffar) and was very active in the progressive movement of the county.
He visited China in 1952 to attend Asia Pacific Peace Conference along with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Ataur Rahman, Manik Mia and Khondkar Illias. He was the President of Aligarh Old Boys Association of Bangladesh.
He was honoured with Bangla Academy Award, Shilpakala Academy Award and many others for his contribution in the Language Movement.
