Death anniv of Prof Dr N Islam observed

The second anniversary of death of the recipient of the Independence Award and National Professor Dr Nurul Islam observed in a befitting manner yesterday.
Janaseba Foundation and the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) have jointly chalked out day-long programmes to commemorate the great educationist and medical scientist of Bangladesh and the region.
To mark the day, a seminar on “Chronic Kidney Diseases: Bangladesh Perspective” held at Moulana Bhashani Auditorium of USTC .Chief consultant and founder president of the Kidney Foundation, Bangladesh Prof Dr Harun-Ur-Rashid spoke on the topic as the chief speaker while former Director General of the Directorate of Health Services (DGHS) Prof M. A. Faiz attended it as the chairperson.
USTC Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Pravat Chandra Barua presided over the function while Vice-chancellor of Chittagong University Prof M Anwarul Azim Arif l attended it as the chief guest. Vice-chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Prof Dr M Jahangir Alam, additional secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Chittagong Press Club president Kalim Sarwar, president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr Mujibul Hoque Khan, president of Chittagong District Bar Association Advocate Anwarul Islam Chowdhury, and first academic council member of USTC Dr Mainul Islam Mahmud attend ed the function as the special guests.
