The death anniversary of spiritual poet of the Middle Ages Heyat Mamud will be observed at his native village Jharbishla under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur today.
Rangpur district and Pirganj upazila administrations have chalked out an elaborate programme to observe the occasion in a befitting manner.
The programme includes ‘Qur’ankhwani`, ‘Mazar Ziarat’, milad mahfil, recitation of Hamd and Nats and poems, essay competition for students and discussion.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will attend the discussion on the life and deeds of Poet Heyat Mamud as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner, Rangpur Muhammad Wahiduzzaman in the chair.
Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamal Kumar Ghosh will deliver the welcome
speech.
