Today is the 4th death anniversary of Poet Abul Hussain., a pioneer of modernism in Bengali poetry.
Abul Hussain is a well-acclaimed Bangladeshi poet who is recognized as the first modern Bengali poet in Bangladesh.
He is the leading exponent of modernism in Bangladeshi poetry. He is the author of 25 books.
Abul Hussain was born in Khulna in 1922. He studied Economics at the Calcutta Presidency College and Calcutta University.
He had received many awards including Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Award, Padabali Award and Nasiruddin Gold Medal.
On the occasion a Milad Mahfil will be held at the poet’s Dhanmondi residence.
