Today is the 49th death anniversary of Khwaja Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan, who gave his life in the war of independence of Bangladesh.
On this day in 1971, Nizam was martyred in a confrontation with the Pakistani occupying forces at Kanaighat in Sylhet district.
He was awarded Bir Uttam, the second highest military award in Bangladesh.
His brother and Principal of Milestone College Lt. Colonel M. Kamaluddin Bhuiyan (retd.) has requested all to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
