The 39th death anniversary of former Chief Justice Syed Mahbub (SM) Murshed, an eminent jurist and one of the greatest constitutional lawyers of the sub-continent, will be observed in the city today.
Marking the occasion, a Qurankhwani and fateha will be offered in the morning at his grave in the capital’s Banani area, said a press release on Monday.
Besides, Syed Mahbub Murshed Memorial Committee will pay tribute to the late chief justice by placing wreath at his grave.
It may be mentioned that, the annual milad mahfil marking the death anniversary of the late justice will be held at his Gulshan residence in the capital after Asr prayers on Friday (April 6).
Lawyers and representatives from different socio-cultural organizations will hold memorial discussion on the life and works of Justice Murshed.
He was an eminent jurist in South Asia and was one of the greatest constitutional lawyers of the sub-continent and a respected figure in the political arena, the release added.
