Twenty seventh anniversary of death of leading organizer of war of liberation, former president late justice Abu Sayeed Chowdhury will be observed today. In this connection Holy Qurankhwani and Milad Mahfil have been arranged at Nagbari Jame Mosque in Tangail. All the relatives and well wishers are requested to pray for salvation of the departed soul.
Justice Chowdhury resigned as Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University on 15th March 1971 in protest of killing of two students on the campus by the Pakistani Occupation Army. Later on he played a significant role in mobilizing world opinion for the cause of Bangladesh as special envoy of the provisional government.
In Eighties Justice Abu Sayeed Chowdhury played a significant role in anti-autocracy movement. He has donated large amount of his property for religious and academic institutions in different upazilas of Tangail.
