The first death anniversary of journalist AUM Fakhruddin will be observed today (Sunday) October 24. A senior journalist died of Covid-19 in Dhaka on this day last year.
Fakhruddin (75), also a senior member of the Jatiya Press Club, breathed his last at the capital’s Kurmitola General Hospital.
A freedom fighter, he underwent treatment at the ICU of the hospital before breathing his last.
During his long career he worked for the erstwhile Morning News The Bangladesh Times, The Independent,The Telegraph, Weekly Holiday and several other newspapers as senior assistant editor.
AUM Fakhruddin left behind his wife, one son, one daughter, and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
