Today is the 8th death anniversary of Hasan Iqbal, a language movement veteran and former Asst. Editor of the Dainik Ittefaq. A doa & milad mahfil will be held at Barobagh Jame mosque at Mirpur-2 in the capital Dhaka after Asr prayer to mark his death anniversary. Relatives, friends, colleges & well-wishers have been requested to attend the programme and pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
Journalist Hasan Iqbal worked for the Dainik Ittefaq for 48 years. On behalf of Tomuddun Majlis, he was the proposer for observance 21 February as Language Day adopted by Sarbodalio Chhatra Oikkya Parishad just after Language Movement in 1952.
He was also a writer of a number of books such as Dik Digonta, Al Hamra, Rastro Biggan, Khudey Karigor ar Karkhara & Biggan ar Dikpal.
