The 28th death anniversary of freedom fighter, former Parliament Member and sports organiser Ilias Ahmed Chowdhury (Dada Bhai), a nephew of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will be observed today.
On the occasion, a milad and doa mahfil will be held on the day after Asr prayers at his house under Shibchar upazila in Madaripur district. Ilias Ahmed Chowdhury actively participated in the 1966 Six-Point Movement and the Mass Uprising in 1969. He was elected in the Provincial Assembly elections in 1970. He died on May 18 in 1991.
