The 13th death anniversary of Altaf Golandaz , former three- time MP and Upazila Chairman Altaf Golandaz was observed at Altaf Golandaz Degree College Auditorium on Monday.
He died at the MP Hostel on the 17th February in 2007. Local MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel , son of late Altaf Golandaz MP was present as Chief Guest at a discussion meeting on his life and works. Upazila Chairman Asraf Uddin Badal, Pouro Mayor SW.M. Ikbal Hussain Sumon, Vice-chairman Principal Mawlana Ataur Rahman, Awami league leaders, Head of the different educational Institutions were present on the occasion. People from all walks of Gafargaon attended the programmes.
The programmes of the day started with Quran Khani after Fazar prayers. Besides, special prayer was offered at the MP’s grave. On the occasion, discussion meeting and Doa Milad Mafhil were held at Gafargaon Upazila.
Altaf Golandaz was born at the village of Bagua of Gafargaon as a respectable Muslim family on 15 August, 1947.
