The 11th death anniversary of prominent labour leader and freedom fighter Ahsanullah Master will be observed in the capital city and at his home constituency at Gazipur with a day-long programme today. The programmes of the day include placing of wreaths at the grave of the slain labour leader at Haiderabad village in Gazipur district, recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, wearing of black badges, milad and doa mahfils, discussions and publication of a souvenir.
Ashanullah Master, elected twice as a parliamentarian from Gazipur Sadar-Tongi seat to the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) in 1996 and 2001, was member of the Awami League National Committee and involved in teachers association and other national and international institutions and organisations.
