Deal signed with Denmark to expedite development Focus on inclusive, pro-poor, sustainable growth

Bangladesh and Denmark on Thursday signed an agreement to support the Bangladesh Country Programme (BCP) with a strong focus on inclusive, pro-poor and sustainable growth.
Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Hanne Fugl Eskjaer and Senior Secretary of Economic Relations Division (ERD) Mohammad Mejbahuddin signed the government-to-government agreement.
The Bangladesh Country Programme has been designed to respond to Bangladesh’s overall development priorities as reflected in the 7th Five-Year Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while matching with Danish policy priorities and past development experiences.
“I’m very happy that we can sign the agreement Thursday,” Ambassador Eskjaer said mentioning that Denmark has been a friend of Bangladesh since its independence.
The total support for the programme is Danish Kroner 615 million (around US$ 94 million, with Danish Kroner of 335 to be contributed by Denmark.
