Deal signed to construct Muradpur-Lalkhan Bazar flyover

Construction works on the 5.2-km Muradpur-Lalkhan Bazar flyover will begin in the first week of November.
Chittagong Development Authority (CDA)signed an agreement with Chinese construction firm Max-Rankin JV to this effect on Tuesday.
CDA Chairman Abdus Salam and Max-Rankin JV Chairman Gulam Muhammad Alamgir signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides in a formal ceremony at Chittagong Club in the afternoon.
Max-Rankin JV has been appointed for construction of the flyover in May last.
The Tk 5.55 billion four-lane flyover has been named after late Awami League leader Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the physical works of the project, approved in the ECNEC on October 1, 2013.
The flyover will be constructed from Muradpur to Lalkhan Bazar covering Sholashahar 2 no gate, GEC circle and WASA circle that will end at Lalkhan Bazar.
