The government on Wednesday signed an agreement with two foreign companies to implement the Ghorashal-Polash Urea Fertilizer Project (GPUFP) to set up the country’s biggest urea fertilizer factory at Ghorashal in Narsingdi.
Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Shah M Aminul Haque and Senior Vice President of the construction company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited Hajime Nagano and CEO of China National Chemical Engineering No-7 Construction Company Limited Wang Da Lin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at a function in a city hotel, said a press release.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Japanese Ambassador to Dhaka Hiroyasu Izumi witnessed the signing. Speaking on the occasion, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu termed Bangladesh as the ‘Emerging Tiger’ in Asia and said many countries of the world are now willing to invest in Bangladesh.
