DC’s signature f orged in Ctg, youth sentenced to jail

A mobile court has sentenced a youth to imprisonment for forging the signature of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Mohammad Mominur Rahman. At noon on Tuesday , a mobile court sentenced Jamal Uddin for 15 days in prison. Jamal is a resident of Mughaltuli area of the port city.
Concerned people said that Jamal Uddin made a deal with a woman named Morzina Akhter for Tk 50,000 to enroll his 6th class boy in the city’s Government Muslim High School. In collaboration with Jamal Uddin, a person named Mozammel Hossain of Alkaran area of Kotwali police station forged the signature of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman and gave it to Morzina Akter’s father.
After going to Muslim High School with the letter of recommendation, the school authorities advised Morzina Akhter to contact the Deputy Commissioner’s Office as there was a mistake in the date. When Morzina Akhter came to the deputy commissioner’s office with the letter of recommendation, she was caught red handed for forging DC’s signature. According to the information given by Morzina Akhter, Jamal Uddin was arrested at that time. Executive Magistrate Umar Farooq sentenced to imprisonment for 15 days.
Umar Farooq told that during interrogation, Morzina Akhter said that he had reached an agreement with Jamal Uddin for Tk 50,000. Of this, he gave 16,000 takas to Jamal Uddin and Mozammel Hossain. According to the magistrate, Jamal Uddin was sentenced to 15 days in jail after he was caught cheating by forging DC Sir’s signature. As Mozammel Hossain is now fugitive, instructions have been given to file regular cases against him at the police station.
