The three-day annual conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) will begin today (Tuesday) in the capital. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference in the Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at 10:00 am.
Cabinet Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said that the DCs in an exclusive session will exchange their views with the PM after the inaugural session. The DCs would also call on President Abdul Hamid tomorrow (Wednesday) evening in the Darbar Hall of the Bangabhaban. Besides, the DCs will exchange their views with Ministers, Advisers, State Ministers, and high officials, including the secretaries of 39 Ministries in 18 working sessions during the three-day conference. They will exchange their views on various important issues relating to public interests and field-level administration, said Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan.
He informed that land related matters, law and order, local development and the disaster management issues would be discussed in the conference with more importance.
A total of 253 topics of 39 Ministries will feature the enforcement in the 18 open sessions. The working sessions of the conference will be held at Bangladesh Secretariat. The concluding session of the conference will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday in the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat.
The DCs conference is arranged every year so that government policymakers can directly exchange views with the highest district-level administrative officials about various field level problems.
