The Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT), established with a commitment to provide sustainable, safe and integrated medical services within the income limits of the common people, has been working tirelessly for more than three decades.
In addition to providing general medical care at the hospital, it is also establishing medical schools and conducting activities through various health care programs.
The trust has been able to establish a medical college, a nursing college and a paramedic institute. From the commitment of providing medical services to the common people, rural health care program has been introduced for the poor people of the village, industrial health care program for the workers engaged in various industries, and school health care program for the poor children and adolescents.
The School Health Program is a completely free medical service program for poor and working children and adolescents in public and privately run schools that has been running for more than two decades. This service has been running for a long time in 6 schools run by the Law and Arbitration Center under the name of “Jokhon Tokhon Shikkha “, Children’s School run by Women’s Association, Sultan-Sofa Pathshala, Yusuf School, Shishu Swargo etc.
Since December 2020, Seven schools for orphans, vagrant and disabled children and adolescents in Dhaka city, run by the Department of Social Welfare, have joined the DCH Trust’s School Healthcare Program.
The schools are Sarkari Shishu Paribar (State Children home – Boys and girls), Chhota Moni Nibas (Baby home), Daytime Child Care Center, Integrated Education for Visually Impaired Children, School of Hearing Impairs, and Safe home & Centre for Vagrant. Dhaka Community Hospital has started this program with the interest of Deputy Commissioner, Dhaka district, and in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare.
An event has been organized at the Sarkari Shishu Paribar (Girls) in Tejgaon to officially inaugurate the program. Mr. Shahidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka District was present as the Chief Guest.
The chief guest said in his speech that God would be pleased with us if we consider orphans and helpless children as our own children. Dhaka Community Hospital took charge of the treatment of these orphans and played a great role as a service provider. He expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital, Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman for this.
Ruknul Haque, Deputy Director, Department of Social Welfare presided over the function. Sukumar Chakraborty, Director, Finance and Accounts Department; Wakar Hossain, Director, Department of Communications and Public Relations ; Jabed Yusuf, Director, Central Administration; Golam Mostafa, Director, Project and Research Department; Dr. Omar Sharif Ibne Hasan, Hospital Director, Pediatrician Dr. Fuadul Islam, Advocate Abbas Uddin, Law Adviser, and others were present on behalf of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust as guest.
