Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has urged South Korea to extend the Duty-Free Quota-Free (DFQF) and slow tariff rationalization facilities till 2030.
“Under the current preferential scheme, Bangladesh will not enjoy these facilities after LDC graduation in 2026. So, government and businesses of both the countries work together and extend these privileges for smooth and improved trade relationship in the years to come,” said DCCI President Rizwan Rahman.
He made the remarks during a virtual dialogue titled “Bangladesh – South Korea Trade and Investment Cooperation in the context of post LDC perspective” organized by DCCI on Tuesday.
“Bangladesh has many promising and priority industrial sectors like agro and food processing, plastic manufacturing, jute and jute goods, light engineering and automobiles sector, hi-tech parks, 4IR technologies and structured economic zones where South Korea can invest in form of joint venture or technology transfer,” he added.
Rizwan also mentioned that Bangladesh offers a rewarding and secure industrial investment hub featured by competitive investment incentives and competitive raw materials to many of the aforementioned sectors.
