Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and United International University (UIU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday.
Shams Mahmud, President of DCCI and Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of UIU, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
During the MoU signing ceremony Shams Mahmud, said that for the development of research and innovation in the industrial sector, Industry-Academia collaboration is important.
Under the purview of this MoU, both the parties shall work jointly for skill development required for industry, he said.
He also said that the fourth industrial revolution ushered a new era for technological advancement, so the Universities should redesign their curriculum according to the need of the industries.
“Lack of industry-academia collaboration, graduates sometimes faces challenges to get job. That’s why, graduates should be made skilled and technology friendly as per need of the industry,” the DCCI president said.
