A 17 member visiting DCCI business delegation led by DCCI Vice President Hossain A Sikder met Ambassador of Bangladesh M Allama Siddiki in Istanbul, Turkey on Wednesday.
During the meeting DCCI Vice-President Hossain A Sikder said that Bangladesh missions abroad are the connecting bridge between Bangladesh and other countries, said a press release.
He said Bangladeshi businessmen want to do business with Turkey and there are opportunities to make joint ventures in different sectors. He urged the Ambassador to work on how we can attract FDI from Turkey to Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh enjoys various trade benefits in different regions in the world. He requested the Bangladesh mission to expedite these information of opportunities to the entrepreneurs of Turkey so that they come in Bangladesh and invest. He also urged the Ambassador to organize single country trade fair in Turkey as it will open up the window of connectivity between these two friendly countries. He also urged for effective branding and marketing of Bangladesh. Our market is a very big market, so we need to reach this information to them as well as we have to share the information of our product strength with them.
Ambassador of Bangladesh M Allama Siddiki said that in Turkey there are huge opportunities for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs specially in the IT sector, Textile, light Engineering, Bicycle industry, ceramics, tourism & hospitality, pharmaceutical industry. He said Turkish economy is manufacturing based economy. He said Bangladesh Embassy is now working hard to reach every information of Bangladesh and its economy to the potential entrepreneurs of Turkey as Turkish entrepreneurs have very limited idea about Bangladesh. So the connectivity between the entrepreneurs of both the countries is getting the most priority at this moment, he said. The Ambassador expressed his utmost commitment to facilitate Bangladeshi businessmen to get right partner in Turkey. He urged the Bangladeshi young entrepreneurs to participate in different trade fairs held in Turkey as it will help building business relations. He also said that Bangladesh wants to sign a free trade agreement with Turkey to enhance Bangladesh’s export to Turkey.
