DCCI seeks innovative idea from young entrepreneurs

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Hossain Khaled has called upon the young entrepreneurs for undertaking innovative business idea to become self-employment.
“If young generation was encouraged to be self employed, they would bring significant change in the economy creating investment and employment to others,” said the DCCI President while addressing ‘Global Entrepreneurs’ Summit’ at city’s Krishibid Institution Auditorium on Friday.
Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) jointly organised the summit.
DCCI President Hossain Khaled said the global youth population is 1.8 billion who can bring a huge demographic dividend to our world. In Bangladesh 55 million people are aged between 15 and 34, he said.
The DCCI has already initiated E2K project for creating 2000 entrepreneurs in the country in partnership with the Bangladesh Bank to promote new entrepreneurship, Hossain Khaled said.
He also said that energy, enthusiasm and innovation are the characteristics of today’s youth generation. He later urged the juvenile entrepreneurs to keep patience in doing their businesses as businesses have risks, ups and downs.
Addressing the function as the chief guest, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu said that for a new entrepreneur, running a business is a great challenge. But a real entrepreneurial quality is to struggle and make his business successful.
He urged the young entrepreneurs to make best use of IT and ICT. He also suggested the young generation to be cautious from cyber terrorism and its bad impact on their bright future.

Inu also called upon the new young entrepreneurs to be hard working and do their businesses dedicatedly. “Every body has a mountain of dream in his mind, and he has to focus vigorously to climb onto the top of that mountain,” he said.
Chairman of Daffodil International University and Former President of DCCI Md. Sabur Khan said that the new entrepreneurs should have access of marketing their products. Bangladesh is a land of entrepreneurial young generation, he said. The government should come forward to promote and foster our young new entrepreneurs with proper friendly policy support and finance.
Executive Director of Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation Amiya Prapan Chakraborty, DCCI Director Atique-e-Rabbani, Sameer Sattar, S Rumi Saifullah, former Director Major (Retd) Yead Ali Fakir, Alhaj Abdul Aziz Sarker, Secretary General AHM Rezaul Kabir, E2K consultant Kazi Shafiqur Rahman were present.
Young entrepreneurs from India, Indonesia, Nepal, Korea, Kenya, Afganistan, Sri Lanka also took part in this summit and shared their experiences.
