Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has appreciated the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) for their quick responses in cleaning up the wastes of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha within 48 hours.
The two city corporations did a commendable job in removing the garbage of sacrificed cattle though the some parts of the capital were under water due to rains, the DCCI said in a statement on Monday. The chamber body said it believes the managements of both the city corporations will keep cleaning measures all the year round to make Dhaka a beautiful, livable and a clean city.
This year the Eid-ul-Azha was observed in a relatively peaceful manner and without any major incident, it observed.
It said Eid congregations were held peacefully and commuters by and large could manage to reach their home without hassle despite some long tailbacks on highways. “DCCI feels that the government should expedite development works on highways so that countrywide commuting becomes smoother and enjoyable,” the DCCI release added.
