Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) Sunday urged the government to find out a quick solution regarding cargo ban imposed by United Kingdom (UK) and Australia.
“Bangladesh government should work jointly with UK and Australia to improve the overall security requirement,” a DCCI statement said.
The UK government has banned air cargo directly from Dhaka citing Bangladesh’s failure to meet international security requirement. The ban was imposed on March 8.
Meanwhile, on December 19, 2015, Australia also banned direct air cargo flight from Bangladesh citing the same reason.
“If these bans are not lifted, then Bangladeshi exporters will have to export their products through Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand or Dubai which will raise the cost of doing business and time,” the statement said.
