Business Institute of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has organized an international certificate/diploma course on Modular Learning System in Supply Chain Management (MLS-SCM(P)) at DCCI auditorium on Friday.
The course was conducted by DCCI Business Institute (DBI) in cooperation with International Trade Centre (ITC)- UNCTAD/WTO, Geneva since 2004.
AHM Rezaul Kabir, Secretaty of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and former Secretary, Government of Bangladesh was present as chief guest, says a press release.
 Md Hossain Ali, Executive Director of DBI presented a multimedia presentation on “Modular Learning System in Supply Chain Management(P)-(MLS-SCM(P))”.
He highlighted the importance of effective purchasing and supply chain management of a business organization to become competitive in the global markets both at home and abroad.
The Certificate Course covers 6 modules, Advanced Certificate Course covers 12 modules and Diploma covers 18 modules.
All the modules deal with the management of the whole supply chain of a business starting from procurement of raw materials and other inputs, operational management, marketing etc.
This course is not only beneficial for the company for improving, among other things, its image, competitiveness, profitability and growth by reducing cost of purchasing and lead time, but also for professionals for their career development. It also enhances the employability of the job seekers.
Chief Guest AHM Rezaul Kabir stated that Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), is the largest and most active ISO-9001 certified Chamber of Bangladesh. Apart from providing traditional services to its members, it has been providing multifarious services for development of private sector of Bangladesh. In order to meet the growing demand for training services of the business community, the DCCI Training Centre, established in 1991, was upgraded in 1999 into DCCI Business Institute (DBI). He added that the Mission and Vision of DBI is to make it a Professional Business School, a source of wide-ranging modern knowledge-based training and academic services and a Centre of Excellence to make its members, in particular and the business community of Bangladesh, in general, to be more efficient, trustworthy and competitive globally. With this end in view, DBI has been conducting more than seventy short training courses/workshops yearly in addition to Professional BBA (Hons) course under National University, Gazipur and International Certificate/ Diploma in MLS-SCM(P) under ITC, Geneva. He finally congratulated and thanked the participants and the respective organizations for choosing this important MLS-SCM(P) course of DBI and wished them full success. Then he declared the 16th Batch of Certificate, 15th Batch of Advanced Certificate and 14th Batch of Diploma MLS-SCM courses open.
The MLS-SCM(P) Lead Trainers of DBI A.M Mainuddin Khan, Md. Mahbub Alam and Mohammad Aiqul Islam also spoke on the occasion.
