Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited at its 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday at Officers Club, Baily Road, Dhaka declared 40percent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year ended on December 31, 2013. Local sponsors of the bank will not be entitled to get the dividend.
Abedur Rashid Khan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank presided over the AGM, says a press release.
Directors of the Board Sayem Ahmed (Chairman, Executive Committee of the Board), Md Fakhrul Islam, Dr Irshad Kamal Khan, Chowdhury M Ashraf Hossain, Md Yeasin Ali, Managing Director KS Tabrez, company secretary Md Monirul Alam and a large number of shareholders were present at the AGM.
M Sahabuddin Ahmed, founder of Dutch-Bangla Bank and Chairman of Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation was also present on the occasion.
The financial statements of the bank for the year ended December 31, 2013 were placed before the meeting and members expressed their satisfaction over the performance of the bank during the year 2013 and praised for declaring highest cash dividend of 40percent for 2013 within all listed banking companies.
The bank deposit increased by 15.8percent from Tk.125,433.1 million in 2012 to Tk.145,230.1 million in 2013, while loans and advances increased by 16.1percent from Tk. 91,648.9 million in 2012 to Tk.106,422.8 million in 2013 and foreign trade increased by 6.2percent.
