DB starts probe into Krishna murder case

The detective branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has started an investigation into the killing of college teacher Krishna Kaberi Biswas in the city’s Mohammadpur area on the night of last Monday.
The sensational murder case was transferred to the DB from Mohammadpur Police Station on Saturday.
The investigation officers collected at least four murder evidence from the apartment in last two days, said an investigation official of the DB team.
The DB team also got vital information from Krishna’s husband and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Deputy Director Shitangshu Shekhar Biswas, he said.
The detectives are examining the evidence and information collected in connection with the sensational murder, the DB official said.
The victim’s relatives handed a bottle of juice, some pieces of cakes and burnt cloths to the DB officials as alamot, he further said.
“Police hope that they will be able to arrest the accused Zahirul Islam after analyzing the murder evidence and collected information,” the DB official said.

of Krishna Kaberi Biswas, said Biplob Kumar Sarkar, Deputy Commissioner (Tejgaon zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
“The news of Krisna’s death was informed to her husband and daughters on Friday night, the police official said.
The body has been kept in a city hospital without post mortem upon request of the victim’s family, the AC said.
Accused Zahirul was known to the family from before and he hit the couple and their daughters Artri, 8, and Sruti, 15, on the night, the police official said.
When contacted, Monirul Islam, Joint Commissioner of DMP, told reporter that DB was carrying investigation into the case based on the collected evidence.
 “The evidence of the murder case would be sent to the laboratory of the criminal investigation department (CID) soon after getting court order,” the detective official said.
The team will submit a report in this regard as soon as possible, the DB man said.
Earlier, victim Krishna’s brother-in-law Shudhangshu Shekhar Biswas filed a case with the Mohammadpur Police Station in connection with the murder on Wednesday, said Azizul Haquq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station.
