He succumbed to his injuries at the Square Hospitals after admission during the wee hours of Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Police nabbed three persons from the house located beside Alim Uddin School at Middle Pirerbagh, Police said.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said, “A joint-team from the DB and Mirpur Police Station raided the house following a tip-off that armed suspects were staying at the house near Alim Uddin School. The suspects fired at police and fled through the back door of the building.
Jalal Uddin was shot in his head and was bleeding profusely, the DMP Commissioner said.
“Three persons, including a woman, were nabbed during searching the house. No explosive or arms is recovered yet”, said Asaduzzman Mia.
It is not sure yet whether they are militant group members or not, he added.
Wahiduzzaman, Inspector (investigation) of Mirpur Police Station, said, “The Detective Branch team went to the house at Pirerbag after receiving a tip that criminals who had stolen a weapon from a traffic sergeant in January were present there. The criminals apprehended the presence of police and began firing from the roof. At on stage, Jalaluddin became injured and was rushed to the hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead around 1:45am.”
An autopsy of Jalaluddin showed that he was shot twice in the head. One bullet struck above his left ear and the brain, said Dr Pradeep Kumar Biswas of Forensic Division of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Another bullet struck the side of the head and exited through the other side. The first bullet was removed from the head, the doctor said.
The Namaj-e-janaja of the deceased was held on the Rajarbag Police Lines Central Jamme Mosque premises around 1:30pm on Tuesday. Senior police officials, including Inspector General of Police Javed Patwary, attended the service.
Jalaluddin joined the Bangladesh Police as a constable in 1989 and was promoted to the rank of inspector last year. He received the PPM award from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2013 for his service and his devotion to his duties.
Jalaluddin’s body will be taken to his ancestral home in Kaliganj for burial as per family decision, the family sources said.
