Staff Reporter :The Detective Branch (DB) of Police of Bangladesh and the visiting team of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of US already have decided to send the evidence of the murder of blogger Avijit Roy, at the laboratory of FBI in US. These crimes scene and data were collected from the murder spot and its adjacent areas, including Bangla Academy and Suhrawardy Udyan, near Dhaka University. “The DB will make a plea for court’s permission in this regard,” Monirul Islam, Joint Commissioner of detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, disclosed this at a press briefing at DMP Media Centre on Monday morning. FBI team expressed its interest to test the murder evidence in their laboratory, the DB official said.The US visiting team expected that their technological assistance to help the investigation process, the detective official said. “FBI team also thought that the main motive behind the killing would be unearthed through test in the laboratory,” he further said.Earlier on March 5, the four-member team of FBI led by Jagdeep Singh Khangura arrived in Dhaka to help the investigation of the murder.The Bangladesh-born US citizen Avijit was hacked to death and his wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya received serious injuries by unknown assailants near TSC of Dhaka University on February 26, sources said.
