A Dhaka court on Thursday directed the Detective Branch (DB) of police to submit a probe report by December 30 in the sedition case filed against BNP Senior Vice-President Tareque Rahman for his alleged anti-state propaganda.
Magistrate Aminul Haque of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order as the detectives failed to submit the report on Thursday as per order given on October 19. On that day, Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur of the CMM Court heard the
charges brought against Tareque Rahman, now living in London, and passed order asking DB to submit the probe report by October 30 after investigation.
Bangabandhu Foundation President advocate Moshiur Malek filed the case on the charge of terming father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as ‘Pakbandhu’ at a discussion titled ‘Bangladesher Prothom President Biswaneta Shaheed Ziaur Rahman: Prekhkhit Bangladesh’ in London.
