DB arrests 4 people along with 3,000 pieces of Yaba at Motijheel

The Motijheel Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Intelligence Branch have arrested four drug dealers with 3,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Motijheel police station area of the capital.
The arrested are identified as Mohin Uddin,
Md Shafiq, Md Shah Alam and Md Shahria.
On Wednesday evening, they were arrested along with Yaba pills from T&T University College area of Motijheel by the illegal arms recovery and drug control team of DB Motijheel division.
Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of DB Motijheel Division confirmed the news to the media saying that during the anti-narcotics operation in the metropolitan area, there was information that some persons were staying in front of Gate No. 1 of T&T University College of Motijheel in order to sell drugs.
On the basis of such information, operations were conducted in that area.
During the raid, Mohin, Shafiq, Shah Alam and Shahria were arrested along with 3000 pieces of Yabas when they tried to escape after realizing the presence of the police.
According to DB sources, they colluded with each other to purchase Yaba from the border areas of the country including Cox’s Bazar at a low price and sell it at a high price to the wholesale and retail drug dealers of capital city.
A case has been filed under Narcotics Control Act against those arrested with Motijheel police station, police officials added.
