‘Days of Bangladesh Culture’ will be arranged in Russia in September next aiming to highlight the traditional culture of Bangladesh.
The decision came after a meeting chaired by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor at the ministry conference room.
According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Bangladesh and Russia on January 15 of 2013, the ministry has taken a primary decision to arrange the programme in Moscow and Kazan in Russia.
There is an excellent bilateral relation between Bangladesh and Russia, said Asaduzzaman Noor adding that “Cultural exchange programmes between the two counties have been continuing to strengthen the relations.”
Under the MoU, Russia arranged ‘Days of Russian Culture’ in Bangladesh on November 20-24 in 2014 when a 51-member Russian cultural delegation performed in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander A Nikolaev, Cultural Affairs Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas, additional secretary Mahbuba Moshkur, Bangladesh National Museum director general (DG) Faizul Latif Chowdhury, Department of Archaeology DG Shirin Akhter, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy DG Liaquat Ali Lucky and Department of Public Library DG Md. Hafizur Rahman were present at the meeting.
