The daylong Victory Day Basketball competition held on Tuesday at Sultana Kamal Woman’s Sports Complex in the city’s Dhanmondi.
Lawmaker Sabina Akter Tuhin formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
In the competition, red senior team emerged champions beating blue senior team by 6-2 points.
In the junior section, green junior team emerged champions defeating blue junior team by 4-0 points.
A total of 36 participants from six teams — red senior, blue senior, green senior, red junior, blue junior and green junior — took part in the competition, organised by Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association (BWSA).
BWSA general secretary Kamrunnahar Dana, basketball sub committee’s member secretary Farhad Jesmin Liti and members of BWSA were present on the occasion.
BWSA president Rafia Akter Dolly presided over the closing ceremony.
After the competition, National Sports Council Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Handball Federation general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor was present as special guest.
