Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a met office press release in the capital on Thursday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Panjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 35.5 degree Celsius at Chuadanga and minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 23.6 degree Celsius at Tangail. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded by 196 millimeters (mm) at Cox’s Bazar.
