Day-long butterfly fair at JU today

A day-long ‘Butterfly Fair-2017’ will be held on the Jahir Raihan auditorium premises at Jahangirnagar University (JU) today (Saturday).
JU Zoology Department, in association with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Nature and Life Foundation, is organizing the 8th butterfly fair on the campus.
Chairman of the department and the fair convener Professor Monwar Hossain Tuhin disclosed this at a press conference at Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA) office here on Thursday.
“We are going to honor a famous Japanese butterfly researcher in this year. The researcher, Kentero Arikawa, is a professor of Graduate University, Japan”, he said, adding JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the fair at 9.30 am.
The daylong fair will include a rally, painting competition for children, photography exhibition on butterfly, live butterfly exhibition at butterfly park, butterfly-shape kites flying, debate competition and screening of a documentary on ‘Butterfly and its Habitat’.
