A day-long Bose seminar on “New Topological States of Quantum Matter” was held on Wednesday at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique chaired the function organised by Bose Centre for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences of DU.
Dr M Zahid Hasan, Professor of the Department of Physics of Princeton University, USA delivered the keynote speech on the occasion.
Prof Arefin Siddique, in his speech, stressed the need for strengthening scientific research and education in the country to meet the global challenges of the 21st century.
He urged the young generation to make themselves global standard scientists through education and research.
