Police have arrested 585 people for defying Covid-19 restrictions and health guidelines in Dhaka today, the ninth day of the strict lockdown.
Iftekhairul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed this information.
With the latest arrests, at least 5,747 people have been arrested in the capital since the lockdown started on July 1.
Mobile courts today fined 129 people Tk 1,56,750 while DMP’s traffic division fined 414 vehicles Tk 8,92,500.
