Being furious with mothers, two teen agers committed suicide at their homes in separate incidents recently.
A madrasa girl student of class vii allegedly committed suicide hanging herself from ceiling at her study room at dead of night at Kassiara village under Faridganj Upazila..
The deceased was identified as Tahmina Akter Tumpa, 14, a local madrasa student of class vii and daughter of Md Mohim Hossain of Kassiara village near College gate in Faridganj Municipal area.
Contacted, Faridganj Thana OC Md Abdur Rakib has told the Independent that on Wednesday Tupma’s mother took her to task seriously for not going to madrasa regularly. At this Tumpa got so angry and emotional. Then, out of regret and great grief, she hanged herself with her scarf at dead of night in her study room. Sensing something wrong, her mother and others peeped and saw her hanging to their utter surprise. At once, Tumpa was rescued and rushed to Faridganj Health Complex where the on duty doctor declared her dead. On getting information, Police rescued the body and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital morgue for post mortem on Thursday. OC added, earlier a UD case was filed in this connection.
