Danish companies are keen to build gas-efficient fertiliser factories in Bangladesh.
Chief Executive Officer of Haldor Topsoe Bjerne S. Clausen and Executive Vice President Ulrik Federspiel met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Sunday and offered to set up plants.
Hanne Fugl Eskjaer, the Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, accompanied the delegation.
The Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury told journalists after the meeting that the discussion had dwelt on ways to boost trade and investment between Bangladesh and Denmark.
The Danish team advocated the refurbishing of the existing fertiliser factories and the construction of new, gas-efficient ones.
Hasina said the gas crisis Bangladesh was facing now would soon ease as new gas fields have been discovered.
She urged the Danish entrepreneurs to invest in the Paira Sea Port, a project they said they would be keen to invest in.
