Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) authority announced Dan Cake as the title sponsor of the ensuing Bangladesh-Pakistan cricket series.
This was announced at a press conference at BCB media conference room on Wednesday.
The series will be called ‘Dan Cake Cricket Series 2015’, powered by Polar Ice Cream Industries Ltd,, said officials at the press conference.
“This is the first time that a food company has provided sponsorship for us…..this is the beginning, in future they will support us likely,” said BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus.
Dhaka Ice Cream and Dan Food Ltd. director Khandaker Md Touhiduzzaman said,” We are happy and feel proud to be with cricket.”
Touhiduzzaman thanked BCB for giving them the opportunity to contribute in the cricket of Bangladesh saying, “We love cricket.”
BCB marketing department chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed also spoke at the press conference.
Earlier, advertising agency ‘Top of Mind’ have earned the sponsorship right of Bangladesh National Cricket Team on Tuesday, after BCB terminated their yearlong contract with Indian ‘Sahara Matribhumi’ recently.
In this series host Bangladesh and Pakistan will play three ODI’s, one T20I and two Test matches.
The month-long series is scheduled to begin with a ODI on April 17 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS).
The rest of the two ODI’s will be played at the same venue on April 19 and 22, while the lone T20I on April 24.
The first Test match will begin at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on April 28 and the second one at SBNCS on May 6.
Pakistan is expected to arrive in Dhaka on April 13.
Except a solitary win in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh never managed to beat Pakistan.
