FF Saiful Islam and Advocate Shamim Ahmed have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of Dakshin Surma Upazila Unit Awami League (AL).
The new committee of Dakshin Surma Upazila unit of AL was formed in the second session of the triennial council here on Monday (25th November).
The council was held at the Kuchai Israb Ali High School ground. Earlier, the first session of the council was attended by Central Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hussain as the chief guest.
AL Central Organizing Secretary Advocate Misbah Uddin Shiraj and the party’s Central Member Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran were present as the special guests on the occasion. Hazi Rais Ali and Razzak Hussain conducted the event with FF Saiful Islam in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion Ahmed Hussain expressed his gratitude to the leaders who came from far-flung areas of the district to attend the council.
Bangladesh Awami League has to survive in the country for the sake of the development spree which is being done under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said. He urged the local people of the district to stand by the premier for assisting to the ongoing anti-graft drive.
Misbah Uddin Shiraj said the premier is working with utmost sincerity to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in building ‘Sonar Bangla’.
