On April 16-19, World’s largest Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) initiated much exciting Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2018 (GEC 2018) in Istanbul, Turkey and gathered together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and other startup champions from nearly every nation to identify new ways of helping founders start and scale new businesses around the world. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed among the delegates to the GEN Annual Meeting at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress on the morning of Monday, April 16 at the inaugural ceremony of the congress.
This year Bangladesh had a very bold representation where Dr Md. Sabur Khan-the Chairman at Daffodil Family has lead the Bangladesh delegation team as the Managing Director as he got nominated by GEN President Jonathan Ortmans and Chair, Global Entrepreneurship Congress. Dr Khan has been nominated to lead the Bangladesh Delegation Team considering his Entrepreneurial effort and contribution in Bangladesh. As the country leader of this largest Entrepreneurial Community Dr Khan has been invited to attend all the meetings, meet representatives from 170 countries and he was also invited as a speaker of a very special session titled as “STEM + the Future of Work”. It was a very rich panel where Channmeta Kan Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Cambodia, Matthias Oschinski MaRS Data Catalyst from Canada, Burak Aydin from Turkey, Ebru Özdemir Limak Investments Turkey were other panelists. Arda Batu moderated the session.
In the session, Dr Khan said, “We need a generation skilled in STEM to fit in next wave of careers”. He highlighted the present education systems in Bangladesh and focused on its future plan. Mr. Khan also highlighted the present scopes in Bangladesh and expressed that his joining at this largest community will bring opportunity for young and existing entrepreneurs.
